The selection process
We work with the China Scholarship Council to short-list the best students for the Programme, then liaise closely with employers to ensure they find the ideal candidate
Marketing
The China Scholarships Council publicises the Programme on its website and through direct contact with Chinese universities. Candidates with appropriate work experience, skills and English language fluency are put forward by the China Scholarships Council to apply for the Programme.
Applications
Candidates submit a competency-based application form, copies of their academic transcripts and TOEFL/IELTS scores and confirmation of their university's sponsorship for their application to the Programme.
Screening
Candidates are then screened against the competency-based criteria and indicators identified on the application form, and successful candidates are short-listed for face-to-face interview.
Interviews
GTI’s trained recruitment specialists then travel to China, and interview all candidates in English. Each interview is designed to identify candidates' capability levels against standard competencies and employers’ requirements.
Offers
The employer is then invited to interview the short-listed candidates (by telephone, online or by video-conference) and make the final decision. GTI then liaise with employers and graduates to finalise placements and ensure that contracts are agreed prior to the graduates leaving China.
Travel and visas
All travel and visa arrangements are managed by GTI’s in-house team.
Arrival and inductions
There are two candidate intakes per year. A UK university will deliver a two-week orientation programme to help them prepare for working life in the UK.
