FAQs - selection process

What is the selection process?
Candidates interested in applying for the UK China Graduate Work Experience Programme should submit an application form and supporting documents as outlined on the China Scholarship Council's website, www.csc.edu.cn.

The China Scholarship Council will screen applicants against the competency-based criteria and indicators identified on the application form. Successful candidates for each role will be shortlisted for face-to-face interviews in China by GTI.

These candidates will be interviewed in English and evaluated against the specific requirements of each role. Each interview will be designed to identify candidates' capability levels against standard competencies and employer-specific requirements. GTI will shortlist candidates for phase-two interviews, which will be directly with employers.

The employer will conduct interviews with shortlisted candidates (by telephone, online or by video-conference) and make a final decision.

When and where will the interviews be held?
Face-to-face interviews will be held in February 2009 in Beijiing and Shanghai. Short-listed candidates will be given exact details of the location and of interview dates and times by mid-January.

The next interviews will likely take place in Beijing in February 2009.
